Second Bank of the United States

This Greek revival building by William Strickland was once home to the Second Bank of the United States. It now stands as a revolutionary-era portrait gallery by artists such as Charles Willson Peale and Gilbert Stuart. Through its vast collection, "People of Independence," visitors can see Colonial and Federal leaders, military officers, explorers, scientists and signers of the Declaration of Independence.

Beginning on June 25, Gallery Tours will be offered every hour on the half-hour from 11:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Meet a Park Ranger at the Washington Statue and get to know some of the notable people featured in the portrait gallery.
