The Mummer's Parade takes place each year on New Year's Day in Philadelphia. It is rooted in tradition from the early 1800's. The participants dress in elaborate costumes in different divisions. The parade is an annual upwelling of good spirits, laced with cultural contributions as diverse as millions of Philadelphia youngsters - and all Philadelphians are young on New Year’s Day. Visitors come from far and wide to see this unique spectacle. This is no ordinary New Year's Parade; this is THE New Year's Parade.

Mummers Fancy Brigade at the Pennsylvania Convention Center

The Family Show at Noon!

Calling all fun-loving groups and families! The New Year's celebration gets started at 11:30 a.m. with a meet-n- greet with the Fancy Brigades. Snap pictures with performers on the show floor, and get in step with the merrymaking in a Giant Mummers Strut. Then catch the Mummers matinee at noon with 4 1/2 minute
performances by each of the 11 competing Fancy Brigades. You're in for a spectacular 2 1/2 hour show.
