The story of humankind is at the heart of a visit to the Penn Museum, where you can take a remarkable journey through time and across continents. Founded in 1887, the internationally renowned museum has conducted more than 400 research expeditions around the world, and collected nearly one million objects. Three gallery floors feature materials from ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, Central America, Asia and the ancient Mediterranean World, as well as artifacts from native peoples of the Americas, Africa and Polynesia.
Housed in grand Renaissance-style building with eclectic features, including Tiffany mosaics, vaulted ceilings, and a massive rotunda, the Penn Museum offers visitors elegant gardens, two shops, and a Museum Cafe' featuring lunches, breakfast, and snacks.
