Your Privacy Matters to Us
The Independence Visitor Center (“IVCC”) values the privacy of visitors to its websites--the IVCC main website (www.independencevisitorcenter.com), the Independence Ballroom site, (www.independenceballroom.com), the “Breakfast with Ben” site (www.breakfastwithben.com), and the National Pretzel Month site (www.nationalpretzelmonth.com) (collectively, the “Websites”). Because we are committed to protecting your privacy, we hope you will take the time to read this policy, which explains what information we collect from you and how we use that information. We will post any changes to this policy on this page. Please check back periodically!
What Information We Collect
The information we collect is used to help us provide services to you--for example, to provide users with the IVCC newsletter, relevant promotional information or to allow you to sign up for the “Breakfast with Ben” program. We only collect personal information about you when you affirmatively choose to provide such information to us. For example, registration areas on the Websites may require users to supply contact information such as name, address, email address, and phone number.
Please keep in mind that when you visit the Websites, your browser may make some non-personally identifiable information available to us automatically. Examples of this information include your computer or network’s Internet protocol address used to connect your computer to the Internet; the date, time and page(s) you visited at the Websites; the referring page (i.e., the last webpage you visited before linking to our site); and your browser type and operating system. We may use this information to create reports that help us analyze website usage.
Disclosure of Collected Information

We may employ third parties to perform functions on our behalf, such as hosting our Websites. In order to provide these services, these third parties may have access to your personally identifiable information, but they are not permitted to use this information for any other purposes.
We reserve the right to provide aggregate statistics about our customers, traffic patterns, and related website information to third parties to assist us with providing our services, but these statistics will not include any personally identifiable information.

We may disclose information about our users, including personally identifiable information, when legally required to do so; at the request of governmental authorities conducting an investigation; to verify or enforce compliance with the policies governing the Websites; and applicable laws, or to protect against misuse or unauthorized use of the Websites. We may also disclose user information whenever we believe disclosure is necessary to limit our legal liability, to protect or defend our rights or property or protect the safety, rights or property of our users.
Corporate Changes
We may sell, transfer or otherwise disclose user information, including personally identifiable information, to a successor entity in connection with a merger, consolidation, the transfer of substantially all assets, or other fundamental corporate change.
How We Protect Your Information
We (or the third parties we employ to handle functions on our behalf) have appropriate security measures and safeguards in place to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of the information that we collect from you at the Websites. Unfortunately, despite these measures, it is not possible for us to guarantee the security of your personal information. Please also note that we cannot protect information, such as information contained in an email, until it reaches us. Therefore, you submit information to us at your own risk.
Links to Third-Party Websites
Our Websites may contain links to other sites, operated by third parties, including those of our business partners such as Travel Hero, the Philly Fun Guide and the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance and those we think may be of interest to you (collectively “Third-Party Websites”). While our goal is to link to sites that share our concerns for privacy, we have no control over the respective privacy policies of the Third-Party Websites. The Third-Party Websites have not agreed to our privacy policy, and your use of such sites is governed exclusively by each Third-Party Website’s privacy policy. This is true even when our partner sites maintain the look and feel of our site such that it may not be evident that you have left our site. We recommend that you review the privacy policies of each Third-Party Website you visit.
In addition, we are not responsible for the content posted at the Third-Party Websites. By including links to these sites, we are not endorsing the material on the sites, nor do such links constitute or imply an association with their operators. You agree to release and hold IVCC harmless from any and all suits, claims, expenses (including reasonable attorneys fees) arising from or relating to your use of the Third-Party Websites.
Children
The Websites are not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under age 13 years of age. If you are under 13, please do not submit any information at the Websites. If we discover that someone under the age of 13 has provided personally identifiable information, we will delete that child’s information.
Cookies
“Cookies” are pieces of information placed in the settings of your web browser by a website server to identify your computer when you return to a website. Whenever a site customizes data to your specifications, it is reading a cookie left in your browser and identifying information that you may have registered during previous visits.
We do not currently use cookies, but reserve the right to do so in the future if we believe it will be of value to you based on preferences you have indicated while visiting the Websites.

IVCC makes all reasonable efforts to present you with accurate and reliable information on the Websites. However, IVCC does not guarantee that the information is accurate, complete or timely. Use of such information is voluntary and made at your own risk, and visitors to the Websites should take steps to independently verify the information. IVCC, its officers, employees and agents, disclaims all liability for any damages whatsoever arising out of the use of the Websites or reliance on the information available at or through the Websites. IVCC makes no recommendations, guarantees, approvals or warranties, including, but not limited to, any express or implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for any particular use or purpose of services or products referenced on the Websites.
Conditions of Use
Your use of the Websites signifies your agreement to the terms and conditions set forth in this Policy. If you do not agree with this Policy, you should not use the Websites. You agree that any dispute over the terms of this Policy shall be governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and shall be arbitrated in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.
